HARCCA is an EU innovation project working to strengthen climate resilience in vulnerable coastal regions. This page explains the information involved when you browse its website, contact the project or sign up for The Ripple newsletter.
This notice covers the project website and its communications. Participation in living labs, research activities or events may involve separate information notices specific to those activities.

Information you share with us
The newsletter form asks for your first name, last name, email address and consent. These details are used to manage your subscription and send project news. Subscribing is optional.
When you email the project team, your address, message and any attachments are used to handle your enquiry. Please send only the information needed to answer it.
Newsletter and HubSpot
The embedded newsletter form is supplied by HubSpot. On this website, it loads only after you enable the HubSpot service through Cookie preferences. Enabling the service connects your browser to HubSpot; sending the form shares the information you enter with that provider.
Permission to load the form is separate from subscribing to the newsletter. You can enable HubSpot while declining audience measurement, or enable audience measurement while declining HubSpot.
Newsletter communications are based on your consent. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email. Disabling HubSpot in Cookie preferences prevents the form from loading on subsequent page views; it does not cancel an existing subscription or delete information you have already submitted.

Cookies and audience measurement
When configured for this website, Google Analytics 4 helps measure website use. Its script loads only after you accept audience measurement in Cookie preferences. Declining it leaves the Analytics script blocked. The integration disables Google signals and advertising personalisation and does not grant permission for advertising storage.
When enabled, Analytics may process information about page visits, interactions and browser or device characteristics. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about Google’s processing.
The website saves your choices in your browser’s local storage for 180 days. This preference record is separate from cookies set by external services. Clearing site data or changing browser or device may cause the notice to appear again. A change to the configured Analytics service also requests a new choice.
Use Cookie preferences in the footer to accept, reject or change optional services. Withdrawing permission reloads the page when necessary to stop a previously loaded service. Cookies already stored by external services may remain until they expire or you remove them using your browser settings.
Website fonts and external services
The site uses Adobe Fonts to display its typography. The font stylesheet is loaded when you visit a page, independently of your optional-service choices. Your browser therefore makes requests to Adobe. Read the Adobe Fonts privacy information.
HubSpot, Google and Adobe process information through their own infrastructure, which may involve processing outside your country. Their linked privacy information describes their practices. Following a link to another website is also subject to that website’s privacy notice.
Purposes and retention
Subscription information supports the delivery of project updates. Correspondence supports responses to enquiries and the administration of project communications, based where appropriate on the legitimate interest in carrying out those tasks.
Personal information should be kept only for as long as needed for its purpose and applicable obligations. The 180-day preference period above concerns your browser choice; it is not a retention period for newsletter records or Analytics data. Contact the privacy team for information about the retention settings relevant to your request.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, and subject to its conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
